The following is a typical example of the settiung used for Motion Detection.

PRE-ALARM QUALITY - SUPER quality is selected.

This increases the quality and hence the hard-disk space used, but as it will only be for infrequent

short periods it will not have a major effect on the hard-disk space used.

PRE-ALARM SENSITIVITY – Default is Normal sensitivity

PRE-ALARM RESOLUTION - Default is High resolution

PRE-ALARM DURATION – This is very useful. Though the system only records when there is

movement, you can set the system to record the period previous to the motion detection. 15

Seconds is very useful, as you can see the activity on the camera previous to the motion detection

(remember the area masked for M.D. may be a small section on the camera, or an object).

LIVE-FILTER – There are four options. Here are the most common;

Motion Detection is the most common.

This alarms if any motion is detected within the masked area.

Perimeter protection.

This allows motion within the masked area, and only triggers alarm if the edges of the masked area

detect motion.
